  6. @khenderick @nohn Also agree that the energy on the net isn’t 100% green. However, in my case, with my state’s energy choice program, I’m at least putting our money as directly as possible towards the purchase/support of production ( / ) on a kWh-per-kWh basis.

Support for this in the could help drive adoption in places where this kind of energy choice exists.

Conservation is a separate — but very much related — issue.

  11. Pfff. I have an with 2 toolheads, but the print quality wasn't top, and I don't have the time nor desire to carefully tune profiles. On the other hand, having 2 toolheads is awesome for printing e.g. PLA supports for PETG etc and works so much better than an or equivalent. And then there's the that I would want, but is just too expensive to justify. Bah

  14. Have a new D10s pro robot vacuum since our old (one of the first connected models) died. Immediately installed on it (since a camera with local AI to recognize clutter on the floor is quite handy, but I don't like the idea of an internet connected camera on wheels in my home). The procedure was complex, but in the end quite OK. And damn, this is a nice piece of software! And it works great together with @homeassistant over . I ❤️ and

  18. @luckyresistor I recently also decided to exclusively use cardboard spools. They are perfectly fine, and never get any shipping damage. But they are a lot easier and environment friendly to dispose of. It's a bummer keeps holding on to plastic spools, so I switched to instead.

  20. We've a NAS running at home for quite a while now. Stores family pictures, documents, ..., and has automatic replication to a second offsite NAS. You know, the typical setup (right? 😅). Anyways, that consumes power 24/7. And while we do have a green power contract ( cooperative ftw 💪), it's still power. So I've been fiddling with some scripts and sensors in and the NAS now completely shuts down if idle, and is automatically turned on if backup replication is needed.
