===================Dumplyzer: local-first memory forensics on Windows
Dumplyzer (v0.1.1, Apache 2.0) is an open-source desktop platform for memory forensics, aimed at Windows x64 analysts who want a single offline workspace rather than chaining command-line tools. Per the project README, it consolidates processes, network activity, indicators, reconstructed binaries, and signatures into one investigation view. Upfront caveat: this is based on the developer's documentation, haven't tested it personally.
Core capabilities
• Process inventory: process listing with full command lines, so suspicious parents and unusual arguments surface during review.
• Network extraction: connections recovered directly from the image.
• Timeline: investigation timeline with a time-range histogram for narrowing a period of interest.
• Memory regions: per-process VAD (Virtual Address Descriptor) browsing.

The deployment model is the notable design decision. Everything runs on the workstation: no cloud analysis, no account system, no telemetry, no phone-home, and no network listener. The original image is never copied into Program Files or the user-data tree; the tool records path, hash, and metadata and continues to work against the evidence in place. For evidence handling, that reduces the chance of accidental modification of the source image, and it also matters in labs and evidence rooms where images cannot leave the premises.
Two outbound connections are documented, both explicit: WebView2 during setup if the runtime is missing, and a matching Windows kernel PDB fetched when a Windows analysis session starts. If outbound traffic matters to you, a proxy verification on first run is a reasonable step, since these claims come from the README and are not independently verified.
Installation
One Windows installer ships Python, the analysis engine, and supporting tools, so end users do not assemble a developer toolchain. The README reports install validation on Windows 10 and 11 x64, with engine, desktop, and frontend test suites marked passing.
Use cases
• Quick triage of an acquired memory image when a GUI over raw parsing saves time.
• First-pass review before deeper command-line work, since the tool intentionally does not emit a malware verdict and interpretation stays with the analyst.
• Training and lab environments where local-only execution is a hard requirement.Limitations
