It would be terrific if the US (and Canada - and others) weren't so spineless when it came to the independence of the democratically-run nation Taiwan, and meant to physically protect it, as necessary.
But as they have shown, the potential of Trade Trumps (ironically) Democracy.
And democracy aside, we'll just see how the world feels should China not be the main provider of rare earth metals but also - taking Taiwan - owning the micro-processor market, too -

Doug Ford - The Premier Who Would Be Mayor - has now decided he (and his scheming sidekicks) should also be in charge of all public transit systems in Ontario. Rather than the municipalities who actually have some idea what their communities need and the challenges involved.
We should have just given him and his druggie brother the monorail and Ferris Wheel they pushed so hard on. He might have been happy then.

If you have a land-locked province actively seeking to leave the country, then Canada shouldn’t be offering to fast-track (and invariably pay for) pipelines to push through Canadian / First Nations lands to sell product to foreign nations.
Pretty sure most Canadians feel the same.
If they are truly interested in staying and kill this nonsense off, then let’s talk about respectable requests.

All Presidents (and their Cabinet Secretaries, Supreme Court judges and appointed FBI and CIA chiefs) should be required to do an annual full spectrum medical / mental / psychological exam as performed by public non-partisan board of professionals, and those details made public.
You want to work in senior-most positions of the government you need to forgo any expectation of privacy in favour for what is best for the greater good.

Another law enforcement officer let off five rounds at close range, but somehow missed assailant with each one (he should probably get firearms training), while assailant apparently slipped and fell, allowing remaining law enforcement to catch him.
Nothing wrong about all this.
