  1. @JanPV not only this #Genocide but everything since the inception of the criminal state including the #Nakba the #SettlerColonialism the #EthnicCleansing the #OccupiedTerritories the #WarCrimes the use of famine, rape, torture and other awful things as tools of domination
    #Zionism

  2. @JanPV a little surprised they were mining distorted layers when #Snowdonia has so much good stuff!

Holes like that are everywhere in the mines and quarries. The vast majority were hand drilled (ie. The drill was hand turned). Apparently it took about a day to drill one hole!

(My u/g mapping was around #Dolwyddelan and included some of the smaller quarries)

  3. @JanPV We are living a a dystopian world aka #TheTitanic captained by barbarians and heading for icebergs. In other words we are following in the capitalistic footsteps that led to the #GreatDepression. The #Oligarchy is deadly afraid of socialism and so they favour #Fascism which leads to known results. There is a book with the title: "Waiting for the Barbarians". That is where we are at. 😆

  4. @JanPV @TCatInReality

yes what the #NHScrisis has seen is confirmation that the cancer stage of #rentiercapitalism is parasitical #capitalism (although my Marxist friends would say its always been parasitic on society)

  5. @JanPV @fencoul

A cardinal rule of politics is - do not underestimate the enemy

I fear this post - and others lambasting the residual #brexiter foot soldiers - breaks that rule

If you do not respect people, they will not listen to you.

It is simply not true that surviving #brexit supporters are thickos....

like saying all #chelsea fans are thugs simply because I support #arsenal (tho admittedly ours is much the better team.....)

  6. @Rosietucker @JanPV @fencoul

    Well - some #leave voters - many are #hardRight #nativists I would not waste a moment on

But aggressive disrespect of those who voted #leave in 2016 is folly - after all that was 48% of the electorate including many who may regret that decision and could be persuaded to help #GTTO

"Working Class People Must Never Represent Us In Parliament"

The Classism in British Society is really coming out with Hannah's election.

The way the Press say "she's a plumber", like a beloved family pet had won a drivers licence somehow...

  8. What an interesting record - from 1284 - I came across this morning.

Details of events leading up to what was clearly a failed attempt by Edward I to mediate over succession and the right to collect taxes from the Duchy of Limberg:

  13. Liverpool city centre today. 'Reform UK must be more radical. Change my mind', the sign says. A young lad with an Orthodox cross round his neck sits behind the desk.

The UK has gone completely nuts.

  18. Selective, limited grass cutting began in the garden today.

As a reminder of how much difference not mowing obsessively can make to wildlife, a Goldfinch came to visit and pecked away at Dandelion seeds - the kind of thing people traditionally hate to see growing on their lawns.

Be kind to nature; use much less of your mower. It's just an illness, really.

  19. Railway experts, please your views on the rail type and their likely dating.

Context: here used as gateposts, with one showing clear acetylene or other flame cutting evidence. Along a mule trackway, no evidence of being a railed way, to an early 19th century manganese trial in a valley overlooking the Nantlle slate quarrying area.

I'm assuming the rail came from the Nantlle rail connections, but a date would be useful.

  24. A somewhat difficult to interpret structure, currently thought to be related to game shooting activities (there are many hides around). Seems built atop earlier manganese spoil heaps. The four vertical stone posts, clearly to support a roof, have these lovely curves cut into them, into which timbers fitted. Never seen these anywhere before.
