This is an earlier work in an informal series I did using ovals and jewel-like tones with lots of shading and iridescent color shifting. When I reached my "eureka" moment (the piece was finished), it reminded me somewhat of the Venus of Willendorf, the Upper Paleolithic female figurine found in 1908 at Willendorf, Austria.
