For the #SysAdmin folks out there running #garage / #garagehq for S3 object storage.

Is anyone aware of a mature ansible role for installing and configuring ansible on hosts with Systemd?

The two on the Garage docs both seem to assume you're just going to run the roles as root so fail almost immediately as part of running the roles and I would prefer not to write my own ansible role especially in this case where I'm doing a POC rather than anything that might live for more than a few days...

Okay, huge shout out to #Solaar which is just next level awesome.

I have a MXMaster mouse and I love it, but Logitech don't have a Linux version to customise settings and I really hate the auto "Fast scroll" on the mouse wheel, this gives me all the customisation and more that I could ever want which in this case is setting it never to go into auto free spinning hell mode!

And no I didn't realise my mouse was so low on battery, yes I will be charging it overnight tonight!

For the folks out there curious (or the #sysadmin #mastoadmin #racknerd)'s out there. This is the rack which will shortly (hopefully!) be running MastodonAppUK and Universeodon. It isn't fully complete, there's a bit more network cabling to do and it's certainly not the tidiest job I've ever done but honestly we forgot some bits we needed the first time and yesterday involved adding the two switches at the top (Front and rear) as well as ripping out some of the original bits that were in there.

I will at some point write up a proper blog post about what we've deployed and why we chose what we chose but yeah, this has been a hell of a lot of time and work, and massive shout-out to @Fyrsta who back at the start of September took a day out of their day job to come help me rack this stuff, that Dell server certainly would have been difficult / impossible to solo rack!
