#calckeytips The boost button changes color when you've already boosted a post. For me, picking a theme that maximizes the boosted/unboosted color contrast made things better for me. The default theme had too little contrast in the colors it used for this, and I wound up hovering over the button and looking for my handle in the list that popped up, rather than just looking at the UI element and seeing that I'd boosted it.
Now, my ADA compliance brain reminds me that using color as the only indicator of state isn't compliant because colorblind people would have to take extra steps, like I was, to see the state that folks with color vision can see with just a glance.
*Sigh,* Which probably means I should volunteer to help fix it. -

* Boost (Unlisted)
* Boost (Followers)
* Boost (Local)
This looks a lot like the post levels in Mastodon:
* Public
* Unlisted
* Followers-only
* Direct
Are these pretty much the same? And is "Local" boosting make my boost only visible on my server?
Finally, occasionally, I only see the last three boost options (unlisted, followers, local) on a post. I'm guessing this means that the original post was published unlisted, so I can't effectively un-unlist it by boosting it publicly.
Mostly I think I have it figured out, but I needed to both write it out so I understood it and do so publicly so someone who knows more than I do could pipe up with "Ah, but here's what you're missing..."
