Texas is 'replacing' lost gas tax revenue for EVs with a $200 fine on them. The state has a 20 cent gas tax, so the fine equals the tax on 1000 gallons of fuel in a state where annual per-capita gas consumption is around 500, so quite aside the fact that road-use taxes don't make a lot of sense (in most cases the last one to benefit from the road is the driver) so Texas is #RollingCoal by taxing EV owners twice what ICE owners pay.

The molester here was a parishioner and the church -- not just the leadership but entire congregations -- repeatedly circled their wagons to protect him, instead demanding the victims forgive him and swear their silence, covering it up so thoroughly even siblings did not know about each other's victimization by the same man.
