I tried listening to The Holy Bible by the #Manics as background music today but found it really takes your full attention. Tried to think of the opposite and ended up with Lost Horizons by Lemon Jelly.
The Holy Bible is really interesting to listen to from the perspective of a deliberate attempt by Bradfield and Moore to move from a US rock sound to UK post-punk. The first time I listened to it I wasn’t aware of Magazine, Wire, Gang of Four etc, but it really adds context.
