#MacquarieRidgemacquarie ridge is a submerged mountain range running SW from the bottom of Fiordland - a continuation of the southern alps- and the massive Antarctic Circumpolar Current constantly piles into it and squeezes thru all the little (km deep!) gaps in the “mountains”.
Id love to do some ocean #science on the way this happens.
