It breeds a sense that the discourse is all one way - your way. But this is false. It is grooming you to intolerance of the other - of another human mind.

If you love interacting with AI chatbots because it feels easier than interacting with another human, I want to try to prompt you to think about why that is.
All discourse is, two-way. With another human, we are constantly getting - no matter how much affinity we feel - a little bit of push back. That sense of pressure conditions our own evaluative thinking. It forms and nurtures an independent mind.
That even slight discomfort you feel when meeting another human mind forms you. 1/

Today I'm embarking on the making a kind of oversized boho style dress in cotton terracotta swiss dot gauze, lined in a re-used lining fabric that ran and needed replacing on a yukata I made ages ago.
The lining fabric has ended up looking kind of wonderful in a wrecked way, so I decided it needed to be lived in in some garment or other. #sewing #remake
