  2. @neuhaus Unfortunately it is not an easy task. I keep writing about it: Self hosting LLMs is incredibly expensive (compared to hosting @openproject, @nectcloud, @xwiki or #openDesk), if you are looking for agentic capabilities, e.g. being capable to interact with MCP servers with useful results. OpenSource hosting has never been a huge cost issue, up until now. Self hosting LLMs is the achilles tendon of FOSS products at the moment. I am happy to learn the opposite.

  7. @homegrown @mediawiki @TiddlyWiki @bookstack @xwikiorg @FeatherWiki A few weeks ago i newfound PMWiki, which i suggest to look at. It's a sort of flatfile-Wiki, which stores its data in single files.

It doesn't need any database and is highly customizable. Although you can setup user-accounts, it follows sophisticated access-rules out-of-the-box for single files, groups of files or user-defined parts of the wiki.

Install, backup, restore or duplicate works just by (FTP-)filecopy - very simple and exactly what i was looking for.

  16. Atlassian Data Center is reaching its end in 2029.

For some teams, cloud is fine.
For others, especially with hosting or compliance constraints, it’s not.

So the question is: What’s the alternative?

    What replaces what?
    What changes in practice?
    What are the trade-offs?

A useful white paper from Open Source Experts (with XWiki & Tuleap) breaks this down:
