considering making a fresh attempt at going 100% CLI/TUI-only. both in workflows and social apps

if democracy survives in US there are many fixes and upgrades we should do
one of them, in my judgment, is to switch merit-weighted voting. no more "1 person, 1 vote, equal weight to each". each person's vote should have a different weight (using a points system) reflecting the objective merits of both the voter in question, and, the candidate they vote for
would not be perfect, but much closer to it than what we have in place now, which is nuts, and has been abused, repeatedly
neat BBS with web and ssh access:
End Of The Line BBS

RIP Margaret Hamilton
tried a new BBS tonight. reminded me I loved the medium/genre if not always all the particulars and priorities
He just said he is ok with Iran destroying two major American cities: Los Angeles and San Diego.
I AM GOING TO REPEAT THAT
He just said he is ok with Iran destroying two major American cities: Los Angeles and San Diego.
I understand the appeal of a BBS and Terminal-friendly TUIs.
I dont understand the appeal of telnet-accessibly in 2026. ssh access (only) is much wiser. Let telnet die.
Why? The modern Internet is a jungle now with zillions of bad actors banging away 24x7. Let telnet die.
Too many billionaires are trying to make the world better for billionaires. Even if it makes it worse for the rest of us.
Long ago I kept a private list of billionaires (you know: as one does) and I made an effort to classify each as either a Good one, Bad one, Neutral, or unclassified. Most were in the unclassified state. There were far far more Bad ones than Good.
There was a brief period where I had Elon Musk in the Good group. Then he clearly moved to Bad/Evil.
"Sad!"
There is precisely one type of software for which vibe coding is ideal: embedded firmware for vibrators.
The nicest thing I can say about Jev is that its approach to AI is far less wrong than LLMs.
That is a compliment.
"nothing is faster than light"
they have played us for fools!
(neutrinos move faster through ice than light does)
table stakes for any so-called "super intelligence":
* cure cancer
* end war
* fix/save democracy
wake me when any AI/LLM does at least one
nothing instills confidence like the name "The Anti-Plague Institute of Siberia"

my acronyms and term definitions let me show you them...
SI: Sports Illustrated
X: the longtime Unixy GUI windows manager
partner: fellow co-owner of a biz
developer: of real estate
agents: like a per-node, health/event monitoring collection agent
prompt: in a terminal shell UI the last portion shown visibly before the user's own newly input command (eg. "] ")
English: a language meant only for humans to communicate with other humans
programming language: the (historically) English-like syntaxes we use to specify the behavior of a computer program
kids: get off my damn lawn! *shakes fist at sky*
The clarity and simplicity and potenially very very high S/N ratio of the BBS UI/UX is a refreshing joy as well as a retro escape now from 2026's online hellscape.
