  1. RE: techhub.social/@alanthecampbel

"... a package arrives with sperm & an NDA..."
One wants to phrase this carefully ...
there seem to be men who "consume" a lot of women but don't really like them
    -- ?

  2. RE: mastodon.social/@VeroniqueB99/

That feeling when the inescapable logic says you have to terminate yourself
    (like in the first movie)

  3. New WH message about putative exploitation of Greenland's oil --
refers to the "Offense of the United States" --
    Let's start over:
" New message from the Offense of the United States ...

  4. If you were on a crew of 20 that cut 400+ trees on Saturday (gov't-owned well-loved golf course)
--sounds like a scene we'll see on "South America"--
and you happened to get hurt?
"You'd better disappear, buster, you signed the NDA"

  5. RE: mastodon.social/@Indivisible_I

    Have to keep telling yourself:

    1. Haven't seen the full horror of it yet

    2. Some of these people aren't hilariously stupid like the ones who are on camera all the time

  6. MARK TWAIN --
I would not have you drift along thinking of Twain as the twinkly joshing fellow who wrote "Tom Sawyer" as a first novel. In "Huckleberry Finn" you begin to see what he thought of our life, and in "Connecticut Yankee" you get it almost full-blast (the Church, divine right of kings, random tragedies...)
This volume has things not in "Letters From the Earth" (suppressed for many years). Reading that at 12, I was never the same.
The titles alone will make you sit up straight: "The United States of Lyncherdom", "To the Person Sitting in Darkness" (partly about our shameful adventure in the Philippines),

and ! "The War Prayer", with a stranger in church, expressing how God understands what patriots are asking may be done to the the enemy, his homes & women & children)

  7. That feeling when life's been good,
so good that you can donate billion$,
get invited to the White House,

and suddenly you wish your parents had never met

  8. "Like anyone with a friendly attitude toward humanity", I hope that Pope Leo will recover fully, long may he run.

Am in some suspense about when Steven Cheung* will say the same.

    *the 1-Man Human Centipede

    (Photo omitted because, puke! )

  9. RE: mastodon.social/@oldclumsy_now

    "creating alien beings"

Fair enough to say that, yes.

But observe how we're not safe anymore from something that was logically impossible,
    in the dear dead days

  10. Too much ado about appearance ?

It doesn't repay my effort to wonder why Susan Dell looks haunted or still has testicles or anything of the kind.

When this became a sensation, her expression of horror was because of what El Disgusto was saying at the moment - one of those "Don't listen to this, kids" throwaway remarks.

I can only remember that it was beyond redemption, absolutely out of court, too distasteful for a cartoon in the old Hustler magazine

  11. A restful weekend, if you rigorously made it so
    of course, not for everyone

    DHS raiding Rep. Ilhan-Omar ?

Explicitly illegal plan to buy diesel from Russia
[they can't spare too much, probably the end of the world will be here 1st] ?

With all the DMT & glue-sniffing you can do, still you will notice the fire alarm going off pretty soon

-- and, winning the Asshole Prize yet again, cutting down 500+ trees [this weekend in DC], as if a judge had said nothing about it.
So much damage can't be undone, or rebuilt, or compensated, not ever

    #Nichievo

  12. RE: mindly.social/@DamonCrowley/11

Reminded each day of TIME reporter Robert Sam Anson's words about (I think you can guess)
"It may be easier to believe that a man can be in 2 places at once, a bullet change direction in midair, & that everything in life is just coincidence"
    ... from "They've Shot the President", 1975

  13. There is a breezy way of saying 'google something' or "post on x'

when you wouldn't say "Gestapo something'
or 'post on Toxin.com' which you will hear me say not any sooner

My son said once "Oh Dad, you're sensitive enough for all of us"
Too good for this world, which is a sad commentary
