According to Ovid, Venus was once so annoyed that a group of #women didn't believe in her, that she made them prostitutes unable to feel #love or shame. Eventually, she turned them into stone.
That led to a scultor named Pygmalion to conclude that all women are gross, & he decided to dedicate his life to #art instead.
But when he made the perfect #statue of a woman, from shiny alabaster, he fell in love with her. He kissed her every day & asked Venus to give him a bride that resembles his statue perfectly.
The goddess granted his wish, & when he came home after making sacrifice to Venus, the statue transformed into a real woman.
