If Matthew Butterick wins the lawsuit, would anyone who used #Github copilot have to open source their code, I wonder?ServiceNow and Hugging Face have a competing #AI coding assistant called #StarCoder:
"The code-generating #LLM, which was trained on source code that the companies licensed, is part of the companies' BigCode Project,"

@laimis And there's a part of me rooting for Astra to finally bite it, and for Peter Beck to pick up the Hall Effect engine Astra is selling (picked up from the Apollo Fusion acquisition) and making it part of Rocket Lab's Space Services portfolio.
It's not an engine powerful enough to lift anything out of Earth's gravity well, but IS being used on satellites already in orbit to navigate and maintain position.

@laimis It's good to see one of my launcher bets paying off.* :-)
I invested in Astra and Virgin Orbit and both of those have been pretty much complete losses, though Astra protests otherwise and that they'll get that share price back up with the un-flown Rocket 4.
* Since I got in early in the SPAC days, I'm still underwater on RKLB, but that's not a problem, as I have full faith in the company and expect it to surge once the market calms down a bit.

#Elmo #Thiel Sacks all #PayPal Mafia #VC #TechBro’s https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PayPal_Mafia
With #TinFoilHat stashed flat on the roll: #SVB feels like a Bond-Villain-esque #PsyOp #Trust Hack. One billionaire instructs all his Founder Fund #startups to withdraw their funds from #SIliconValleyBank
https://news.yahoo.com/thiel-founders-fund-withdrew-millions-005223787.htmland
1) a generation of competitors (many in #AI) to Thiel’s portfolio goes *p00f*
2) economic chaos ensues
#TechnoFascists know exactly what they're doing.

@travis @laimis @arstechnica For sure #SpaceX would not exist as we know it in the essentially #Monopsony world of space flight but to deny their advances in tech, process, and cost as mere fudging does them a disservice.
PS I am in no way, shape, or form a Muskovite, I loathe the man.

@emarktaylor That was the year I went to my one and only NFL game: #NYG @ #ARZ (11/17/96). The Giants lost 23-31, someone spilled beer on me, and it was REALLY boring between plays. Never again. #LivingRoomCouchFTW

I am still adjusting my software related goal setting to the AI age. I had a list of things I wanted to do for 2026 for my trading management site. I thought it was an easy list, not a stretch by any imagination, but still beefy enough that I figured it will be nice to take care of over the course of this year. Well, all the items on the list are done.... #ai #AIAge
