For those that want to know, i bought a #Garmin Instinct 2 and it works with #Gadgetbridge perfectly. Most Smart Watches are subsidised by sending huge amounts of data to their overlords in exchange for a cheap device. Gadgetbridge is the option to stop that, On Android.
Also my battery life is sitting at 28 <DAYS!> per charge. Incredible

Currently I reactivated my ancient Garmin Forerunner 235 and using it with GB only for the last 10 days with mixed results, but quite content. I am using it for only steps tracking and tracking workouts
When buying new hardware you should be able to achieve similar or better results. My long term goal is having no tie to Garmin Connect
