Why flat roofs? Easy way to deal with storm runoff than dedicating space for either a detention pond, rainwater garden. Thanks to the City of Portland, most cities that have adopted their standards req 10' separation from structures.

Skylab does interesting projects in #PDX and around the world. Their headquarters is right in NW. I happen to know where they are b/c I frequently walk all around the areas where most people don't.
