   In the far future, an alien civilization that develops interstellar travel long after human extinction discovers Earth, and on it, strangely preserved, the only remaining artifact of humankind: the novel. As they soon learn, it is there for them to discover because of what they’re about to do with it.

   Like John Connor sending his unwitting father back in time, ostensibly just to protect his mother, but also to cause his own existence to have begun, the aliens animate the book, and send it back in time, where it self-publishes, and iteratively writes and rewrites itself, slightly revising the timeline consequently, based on foreknowledge of all its eventual readers and its effects on them.

   Not content with mere plagiarism and copyright infringement, it looks like #OpenAI is adding forgery. How long till they start synthesizing provenance records, and thus progress into falsification of business records and, once cash is exchanged, fraud as well?
