티빙과 웨이브의 합병. 기사 제목과는 달리 아직 공식발표가 있지는 않았고 두 회사 모두 논의 중이라는 정도의 답변을 하고 있는 상황.

그동안 꾸준히 말이 나왔고 생존을 위해서는 필수적이라고 할 수 있으니 곧 발표가 있을 듯.

[티빙, 내년에 토종 OTT 최초로 광고형 요금제 출시]

12월 1일부터 구독료를 인상하고 내년 1분기 중 광고형 요금제를 출시할 계획. 구독료는 웹 결제 기준 베이직 요금제가 월 7900원에서 9500원, 스탠다드는 1만900원에서 1만3500원, 프리미엄은 1만3900원에서 1만7000원으로 인상. 광고형 요금제는 월 5500원.

1년에 1천억이 넘는 적자를 감안하면 어쩔 수 없는 선택.

웨이브의 지난해 영업손실은 1217억원, 티빙은 1192억원.

말 그대로 '버티는 놈이 이긴다'. 서비스 업체가 줄거나 자체 콘텐츠에 대한 투자를 줄이지 않는한 수익을 내기 힘든 서비스가 된 OTT.
