    The dark side of club culture provides the setting inspired by actual events. A demoted, whistle-blowing cop, an ambitious prosecutor, & a pimp work together when girls start disappearing. The villain's seriously evil plan means the corruption runs deep. Discovering the sinister plot makes for an intense watch. There is a lot of violence & some gore.

    JCW is not fond of action, although he's extremely good at it. But he accepted this part to get out of his comfort zone. He plays an outlaw very well. Acting is outstanding. Sound & music add to the story. The lighting & cinematography provide a gritty, desperate feel.

    What the villains are willing to do to people is terrifying & the team chasing them is thwarted at every turn. There's not one main protagonist. Everyone is fighting for justice in their own way.

    Hooked by #TheEmpressKi despite #sageuk dramas not being my thing.
    I just can't stand the disregard for human life and their suffering.

    Anyway the sublime #JiChangWook makes even the most despicable and weakest emperor entertaining. It's the first time I see him in such a demeaning role and he can nail that one too.

    #HaJiWon is equally outstanding, looking forward to seeing more of her!

    Melting Me Softly
    (2019 - Viki, 16 1:05 eps)

    An interesting idea for a story - 2 people volunteer to be frozen for a day, but due to evil shenanigans, wake up 20 years later to a changed world, friends, & family.

    The cast is full of phenomenal talent. Although the FL has disappointed me in 2 dramas now. The screen writer wrote one of my favorites, "Strong Woman Do Bong Soon," but here was just a full-of-tropes drama with some silliness. There could have been a profound statement about the passage of time changing our values & perspectives, but it missed the mark, didn't use the crime or the secondary characters to emphasize a theme (as she did in SWDBS).

    Ji Chang Wook & the other wonderful actors save it as a cute romcom, but it really could have been so much more. That said I did laugh & even shed a few tears, but don't expect a lot.
