[!!CW!! Synopsis & non-spoilery review.]

A romcom full of OTT tropes, but twisted enough to be cute & funny. A hot-shot prosecutor loses her memory (a well-done amnesia trope) and after she gets out of the hospital, goes to live with the man who says he is her boyfriend.

Lovely side characters, especially the 3 nosy "moms." The FL's strong character is the most compelling reason to watch. The ML has a lot of emotions to work through too, but his character felt superficial. The villain is extremely cruel, using people's own guilt & love to torture them worse than anything physical. Unfortunately, we don't find out much about him until the end.

Cute to watch, a bit thought-provoking about living or dying by the choices you've made. The chemistry was surprisingly lacking; if it had been ML's usual, this would have been much better.

Love Next Door

A neighborhood friend moved abroad for several years, but then quit her job & returned to Korea. She meets her old friend again & they resume their old bickering habit.

The directing is amazing, frequently one scene cuts to a contrasting one (fighting/loving, sad/happy, rich/poor) or parallel one (between couples, in time) - extremely well done. The acting is stellar. The 2nd couple is sweet & funny & the children are *amazing* actors. The parents' friendships & personal paths are interesting & enrich the story.

Symbolism again plays a big role. The FL's name means pomegranate & she gives the ML a pom tree as a gift. The tree foreshadows events that take place. The ML's name means victory & filial duty which fits his character well. Food plays a big role & I think even the onggi pots we learn about have a deeper meaning.

The FL can see the future & meets a few other people with this gift. We see them try to make changes while realizing why their lives are intertwined. The ML is a prosecutor with extremely interesting cases - bringing up some great moral dilemmas.

There are a lot of flash backs & flash forwards which is confusing if you aren't paying attention. I loved the investigator(Kim Won Hae), villain, & 2nd ML - all excellent. The main couple was cute but not heart-skipping.

Our favorite ahjeossi, Kim Won Hae, won an award for this part. ML & FL won top excellence awards & best couple.

LJS seems typecast as a cool, morally upright guy. He did it well in Pinocchio, but here, he tries to be a little silly. While it went well with Bae Suzy's character, it didn't fit him or the story well.
