Definitely an action thriller, the fight scenes are fabulous, but usually bloody. The 1st several eps. are a wild ride as the crazy man does one unexpected thing after another. We get bromance, great sr. & jr. cop friends, and a bit of romance too.
An unusual depiction of the fairly common K-drama childhood trauma story makes for some surprising twists. There is a bit of a slump in the middle as the various crimes get sorted, but overall, an exciting & interesting watch.

The Midnight Romance in Hagwon
(2024 - Viki, 16 1:10 eps)A treasured former student shows up to teach at FL's academy after leaving a promising job. He wants a new direction in life & she was his 1st love. There is an age gap, but it seems to only be about 5 yrs in the show (9 IRL). His arrival stirs up trouble mainly because he wants to teach the way she taught him - to learn & not memorize.
A wonderful commentary on the education system drives the plot through the 1st 12ish eps. The very harsh competition with the other academies was unsettling. The FL tries to avoid her feelings to protect him & herself. This comes across on screen well, but even when she finally admits it, it feels like she's still holding back.
The drama flounders at the end as we lose the education system commentary, & the war between the dueling academies becomes a farce.
