Naver logo doodle advertisement for the Korean TV drama "Low Life" (파인: 촌뜨기들). It is not "pine" like the tree; it seems to be an uncommon use of "罷" (파할 파, 내칠 파) making "pa-in" to mean like "ousted person/people" or "tossed out folk" or something.
Synopsis: What happens when a buried treasure ship off the coast of Sinan sparks a struggle among bumpkins blinded by greed?

Doona!
(2023 - Netflix, 9 0:50 eps)So pleasantly surprised. While a few tears were shed, the drama was surprisingly uplifting. The main character goes through a lot of introspection which is difficult to show visually, but it succeeds. The scenes feel intimate & the writing is sweet yet sharp - at times her retorts betray her feelings & surprise the characters & audience alike.
The ML expresses his feelings very well - he is involved in a love triangle, but handles it beautifully. The side characters are so interesting - I wish the drama had been longer & we had gotten even more of their stories.
Fortunately, someone had warned me ahead of time to not skip the intros. The opening scenes contain clues to what eventually happens & are a stroke of genius & perfection. The only thing I disliked about this drama was the smoking. Wouldn't smoking damage her voice?
