女兒就笑笑口告訴我，他們用了幾課時間了解納粹設立集中營的種種。然後老師讓同學討論一下，然後各自選取認為能代表這段史實的場景或物件，畫一幅畫或手工，當作紀念大屠殺的功課。
初中生決定做一個大屠殺列車的棚車模型，即是Holocaust Train。當年納粹德國為了強行驅逐猶太人，利用大屠殺列車從荷蘭、德國、波蘭等地運送受害者至納粹集中營、勞動營與滅絕營。受害人就是登上原本載牛羊的車卡，踏上死亡之旅。連續幾天，女孩在車房找來木棒、卡紙，做了一個棚車模型和路軌，並寫下自己的感受。孩子極愛做手工但卻怕寫文章，此作業正正燃亮了她手作的那團火，也因而找出事件與事件之間的聯繫，令她對歷史、對人性看到更多，看得更深。
她說，無論你甚麼年紀、有何背景和是否曾經成功，但當擠在棚車上，連牛羊也不如時，可以想像有多難...
