The molding colors for Lily is almost the same as Rose, which seems to lack novelty, so I completely repainted the armor of this kit in shades of blue. It doesn't really suit the name Lily, though.

Twin plastic kits: Rose and Lily by Volks Inc.
Original characters, roughly inspired by floral motifs. The body construction is almost identical, while the head and weapons are each composed of unique parts.
The molding color of weapons were metal black, which didn't suit the motif and made it difficult to see the kit's structure, so I painted them with the green of plants for Rose and the light brown of soil for Lily.
These products were released in 2020, so they retain older designs (e.g. polyethylene joints). Also, the parts of the complicated and densely designed weapons interfere with one another, making them prone to falling off, which is very frustrating. Nevertheless, they possess the unique beauty based on Yukito (行徒)'s picture. (cont.) -

Yesterday I also built V2 Assault-Buster Gundam (1/144 in High Grade), painting partially.
The machines in V-era are smaller than in other Gundam works. And their curvy design aligns with the image of "futuristic sophistication" assumed in the 1990s. (Like in iMac in1998. Victory Gundam was aired in 1993.) -
Wearing the armor, the character looks somewhat like the Power Loader. (2/2)
The 16cm plastic kit can move the giant hands, rig the additional weapons (torpedo launchers), and extend the sub-arms. -
New plastic kit: Greifen Barracuda (Frame Arms Girl).
The outline is almost the same as the original design, but I repainted its armor to refine the color and highlighted the details such as rivets and belts. (1/2) -
The results of the plastic model contest are on display at a local model shop, VOLKS Inc. in Sannomiya.

I took out the old kit I had made in my student days from the back of my room to show my friends.
The proportions are problematic with the upper body being too small and the legs being too large, which is a bad habit Bandai aiming for the so-called "heroic physique" but it may look better balanced when the weapons are attached.I put the kit and Toutou side by side. (*image 4)
The kit of Toutou (東塔: East Pagoda) at Yakushiji (薬師寺) Temple in Nara Prefecture was released by Fujimi. Both plastic kits are on the same scale: 1/100. -
Comparison of the monsters: Gundam Mk-II (PG, 1/60), Ex-S Gundam (MG, 1/100), Penelope (HGUC, 1/144), and an average HGUC (Zaku II F-2, 1/144), but (un-)fortunately I don't have the famous gigantic kit Dendrobium in my small room. (5/5)

HGUC Penelope: completed! (1/n)
-
Now I am ready to work on HGUC Penelope with additional parts from aircraft models for improving the detail.
Some armored surfaces of this robot are simply flat and look boring (especially on both shoulders) and I am going to decorate them and make them more realistic. :AquaYeah: The size will be over 25cm high (1/144 scale). -
Dangerous trap above head in a modeller's house.
-
And there are various expression techniques for the fictional robots. (10/n)

Exquisite details of Gunpla works. (9/n)
-
Gunplas are so popular that one room was given just for them. (8/n)
-
The second event of Character Modellong Convention in Kansai (関西キャラ模型の会). As for the resin kits, young female characters from comics and animes are still prevalent, but various kinds of expressive techniques are used such as delicate hair paintings and shiny metal plates. (3/n)
-
Today's modelling exhibition consists of four genres: resin figurines, gunplas, girls plastic models, and others (such as Patlabor, Star Wars, Armored Core, etc).
Participants voted for their favorite works, and some outstanding works received gold medals and applause at the end of the event (attached image 1).
Above all, the unique piece which recreated the Votoms robot by gluing together plate parts single-handedly won the Grand Prize (image 4. It looks thin from the side, but from the front it appears as a large realistic model!). (2/n) -
Photos of I-401 (1/700 scale) by Aoshima based on the comic Arpeggio of Blue Steel.
A fictional sci-fi submarine transformed from the ship of the Imperial Japanese Navy in WWII, fused with a heavy cruiser, and exposes the Supergravity Cannon Launcher inside from the front of the hull.
After painting all the parts, I added precision machine guns by Finemolds and photo-etched metal handrails. (2/n)#modelling #模型 #aoshima #scalemodels #scalemodelling #蒼き鋼のアルペジオ

Completed!
I would like to post some photos of the this plastic kit "I-401" later. -
Work in progress: two plastic kits of the fictional submarine I-401 from the sci-fi comic Arpeggio of Blue Steel.
If I can get these completed by the end of this week, I am going to take them to the volunteer model exhibition in the neighborhood next weekend. -
Plastic kit: Vengeance (from the game "Armored Core V", modelled by Kotobukiya).
It took 15 hours just to assemble it without painting, but it is surely worth building for the details of outstanding density (such as rivets, truss structure, and tubes) and the extraordinarily huge weapons (named "Grind Blades").#modelling #模型 #armoredcore #armoredcorev #アーマードコア #kotobukiya #コトブキヤ

I am going to assemble a witch's house of the book nook this week.

Plastic kit: Gin-kei (銀鶏, lit: Silver Chicken) from the shooter game Ikaruga (斑鳩).
Colors are not necessarily true to the original design. I aimed to bring out the best in the shape and details of this kit, highlighting the small molds with silver paint, emphasizing the curved surfaces with light green gradation, etc. (1/2)
