🌿PERSIMMON PALACE🌄
Entsū-ji (円通寺) was once surrounded by such an abundance of persimmon trees and azalea bushes that in past times it was nicknamed 'Kaki-no-dera' (柿の寺 the 'Persimmon Temple') and 'Tsutsuji-no-dera' (ツツジの寺 the 'Azalea Temple').
The temple is now better known for its 'borrowed scenery' garden.

A straw raincoat hangs beside the door at Rakushisha (落柿舎), indicating that the host is home.
The small cottage was home to Mukai Kyorai (向井去来), chief disciple of Matsuo Bashō. It was here Bashō composed 'Saga Nikki' (嵯峨日記) in 1691.

Starting to see #persimmons on the table as a dessert after dinner! I'll admit it's not my favorite fruit, but it's a nice change from the usual #apple or #orange.
夕食のあとにデザートで柿が出てくるようになりました。一番好きな果物ではないけど、いつものリンゴやみかんとちがった味でたまに食べるといいですね。
