省港盃，首回合香港和廣東打成 1：1，次回合港隊在主場香港大球場應戰，最終 1：2 不敵廣東，兩回合輸 2：3。
賽事踢到 33 分鐘，廣東隊由來自新彊的拜合拉木阿卜杜外力入球先開紀錄，他入球後走到香港球迷區前除波衫展示，還不斷飛吻，被球證黃牌警告，有港隊球員上前表達不滿，港隊球迷則喝倒彩，亦有人向場內掟飲品，有穿白衫的廣東隊球員被擊中；到下半場港隊由劉家喬扳平，唯踢到 86 分鐘，惹火人物阿卜杜外力傳中由夏達龍撞入奠勝，到補時階段他再因為阻擋港隊開界外球，兩黃一紅被逐離場，離開時再次挑釁球迷，再有球迷向場內掟雜物。
另外，由於曾經的中超班霸廣州恒大已解散，今屆代表踢省港盃的「廣東隊」，實際上是中超球會「深圳新鵬城」，骨幹是原本的「四川九牛隊」，隊內只有數名廣東球員，有今場入場觀戰的廣州隊球迷「倒戈」，高呼「還我廣州隊」，甚至為港隊打氣。

Thinking of #Guangzhou, #China this morning/night as #COVID and #policy decisions again wreak havoc. I spent a day there by accident in 2016, and since then I've wanted to return.
This scene of the pedestrian mall in #Zhijiang New Town remains one of my favorites. The #Canton Tower — briefly the tallest in the world — struck me as marvelous counterpoint for the pedestrians nearly 2,000 feet below.

The great #historian of the #Chinese #MiddleAges #Tang #唐, Chen Yinke (or -que) #陳寅恪 (1890-1969), spent the last 20 years of his life in #Guangzhou #廣州. Chen, who had lost his eyesight during #middleage, used to take walks on this walkway in shining white concrete leading to his house, as he was still able to distinguish light and dark under the bright #Cantonese sun. I took these photos when I was studying Chinese and #philosophy at Sun Yat-sen University #中山大學 in Guangzhou from 2005 to 2007.
