"その時々の世界情勢に言及しつつ、被爆地の願いを発信してきた平和宣言。2023年以降はほぼ毎年「ロシアによるウクライナ侵攻」との表現で、他国の罪のない人々の生命や日常生活が危険に晒される実態を憂慮してきた。2026年は、アメリカによるベネズエラへの軍事作戦で幕を開け、その翌月のアメリカ・イスラエルによるイランへの先制攻撃以降、半年以上が過ぎてもイラン周辺の緊張状態は続いているが、なぜ今年の平和宣言では、軍事作戦や先制攻撃の主体、つまりアメリカやイスラエルを、ロシアのように名指しないのか。平和宣言の骨子を明らかにした7月31日の会見で、その点について記者から問われた市長の回答は歯切れの悪いものだった。「私が言わなくても皆さんご存じだと思うので」。ちなみに、日本政府に対して非核三原則堅持を求める文言も存在しなかった。

Todays journey takes me from Hiroshima to Fukuoka.
So leaving Honshu & going to Kyushu.My two reasons for the "slower" Sakura:
1. Hoping to go by a 800-Series Shinkansen
2. Or a 700-7000 / 700-8000 SeriesJR West did not fulfill my wish 1 but number 2.
The 700-7000 / 700-8000 Series offers wieder seats in the reserved cars, which is normally not the case.

Time to say good bye to Hiroshima :(
A city with a heavy history and a lot of nice & lovely people!I can only recommend to not just do a day trip for the Miyajima and/or Hiroshima Peace Park.
This city and the area around have more to offer and the people are very welcoming.
The volunteer group in the Hiroshima Peace Park alone has over 150 active guides + there are also volunteers at Hiroshima Station to help you!

First time in my life that I have been "paid" in paper cranes by children!
Some students were doing little interviews about peace in English at the Hiroshima Peace Park for their school projects. As a thank you I got some selfmade paper cranes.
Out of 7 different interviewer groups, I got 5 paper cranes.
One of the paper cranes can even flap its wings when its tail is pulled!Somehow I feel overpaid with these little beauties...

After days spent in Hiroshima Peace Park and its associated monuments and museums, which are emotionally very intense & make one despair when looking at the world today, there are also glimmers of hope in the form of future generations singing, praying & hoping together for peace.

The Hiroshima Tram / Lightrail system is a wild mixture of cars from all generations.
Cars 651 and 652 (picture 1), which both survived the atomic bomb.are still in service.
The fare is 240 Yen no matter how far you go. If you switch line you can ask the driver for a change ticket.You can even go as far as to Miyajima with line number 2 which is the cheapest way of public transport to get there.

After Miyajimaguchi station and all tourists get off, it is way more silent...

If you're traveling on a train line from beginning to end and you know it's going to get crowded, you should get in line early (about 20 minutes beforehand) to avoid standing around like this for an hour :)
