    😇THE TEMPLE OF THE 2 BUDDHAS😇

    Nison-in (二尊院) is named after its two statues: Shaka Nyorai (釈迦如来 Buddha) blesses the world's newborns, and Amida Nyorai (阿弥陀如来) greets the dead.
    It's unusual for a temple to have two principal images.

    Went to #Arashiyama #嵐山 in #Kyoto at the peak season of changing leaves #紅葉 in fair weather on November 19, 2022. The crowds of tourists to #Japan are back, although not like 2019 yet. I got there by midday and quickly headed for the famous bridge #渡月橋 and bamboo forest, then two #Japanese #Buddhist #temples, Jojakkoji 常寂光寺 (better for #temple buildings blended with foliage like in these photos) and Nison-In #二尊院 (better for beautiful #trees and stone monuments to #Emperors and aristocrats).
