自分を労うための昼食。今日は、2 か国で申告義務のある外国人として、毎年恒例の確定申告という長い冒険の最初のハードルを乗り越えました。その後、近くの鹿肉専門ジビエレストランでお祝いしました。鹿肉のミネストローネとライ麦パン、自家製シフォンケーキを少し食べ、自家製ハーブティーをいただきました。おいしいポテトサラダはサービスでした。また来ます。

Lunch plates at Hasumi Farms. The plate on the left featured a slice of quiche. The one on the right some fermented foods: a hamburger with miso wine sauce and chicken ham made with sake leavings. With a glass of Chardonnay from their vineyard and homemade apple juice. Total: 2,400 Yen for all.

This weather-beaten roadside sign reads "Japanische Romantische Strasse" (Romantic road of Japan, in German). I appreciate the sentiment, however the exhaust fumes on this section of a heavily congested thoroughfare are not especially romantic. The overgrown bush and mountains are indeed quite picturesque.

強い日差しに負けた国道18号線の沿道標識には「日本ロマンチック街道」とドイツ語で書かれています。気持ちはよくわかります。しかし、地元の大通りのこの部分の交通量の多い排気ガスまみれではどうもそういう雰囲気とはかけ離れています。生い茂った薮と山は美しいと思いますが…。
