Yesterday at the bookshop, I found Kaori Nashiki's new book, “Illustrated Guide to Wildflowers（translated title, unofficially)”, and bought it with a joy. The binding allows the pages to open perfectly flat, and I was impressed by the careful construction of the book. I learnt the term ‘Spring ephemeral’ for the first time. With a seasonal plum-blossom pen.

I'm leisurely reading "Hige no gahaku no gohan-chol" by Umi Umemura (painter Akira Yamaguchi's wife) at a pace of about one chapter per day. My family member, who said they liked Akira Yamaguchi's works but found the Suzushiro Diary too detailed to read, also enjoyed it.

ダイアミンのインクが届いたので試し書き。レイディーグレーとセラドンキャットは、虹のような濃淡が出てとっても綺麗！
ブリリアントレッドは想像以上にパキッとした朱色でした。
初めてのカリグラフィーペン。まだ文字が上手く書けません。

My Diamine inks finally arrived, so of course I had to test them right away!
Lady Grey and Celadon Cat shade beautifully. 
Brilliant Red is much punchier and more vermilion than I expected.
First time using a calligraphy pen. I’m still getting the hang of it!

ランダムにいろんなものを書いたり貼ったりする雑記帳が欲しくて、前から気になっていた北イングランド、ノーサンバランドのブランド pith (https://www.pithsupply.com/products) のノートを購入。「Ettaさん、ハッピーニューイヤー！」の手書きメッセージが入った小包が今日届きました :vivaldia_heart:
環境に配慮した素材と製造工程にこだわったプロダクトで、紙はMDペーパーより少〜し白い感じ。130 gsmもあるとごわつくかな？と心配だったけれど、しなやかでめくりやすい。
商品名の帯の部分は裏返すとタイトルや内容を書くレイアウトになっていて、保管する時に便利。無駄のないデザインですね。

2025年11月1日から始めたミドリの連用日記。スペースは4行だけ。三日坊主の私でも無理なく続けられています :tony_wee:
裏抜けしないMD用紙なので万年筆を使っているのですが、なぜかこの Kaweco Classic Sport Mニブ x Diamine Oxford Blue（大好きなブルー）インクの組み合わせだと、やや太字になってしまうんです。
同じMニブでも、Kaweco Art Sport と他のインクの組み合わせではもっと細く書けるのに。インクの性質の違い？ニブだけ交換してみようかな。

I started this Midori 5-year diary on Nov 1 last year. It’s only 4 lines a day, so I’ve managed to keep it up so far :tony_wee:
The MD paper is great and doesn’t bleed through, so I use a fountain pen.
But this Kaweco Classic Sport (M nib) with Diamine Oxford Blue (my favourite blue!) writes thicker than I expected.
My Kaweco Art Sport (M nib) and a different ink combo writes much finer on the same paper. Maybe it’s the ink? Should I try a different nib?
