#クレバテス を遅まきながらアニメを見て原作も読んだわけだけど、意外と面白い。この作者を知ってはいた。面白いんだか面白くないんだか、妙なリズムと雰囲気のマンガを描くと思っていた。その個性は捨てないままこんなマンガを描いていたとは。気づかずすまんかった。

Figurine from amusement arcade: Alicia from "Clevatess" by Furyu.
The posture is refined with dramatically fluttering cloak, but most parts are unpainted and lack the texture, so I repainted it fully, including soiling the clothing realistically in order to recreate her muddy struggles in the main story. -

If you like 90’s/00’s era dark fantasy, I can say without a doubt that Clevatess is one of the best new anime to come out, completely out of left field. By far my favorite of the season!

This work apparently belongs to the genre of dark fantasy where brutality, bloodshed, exploitation, and death are depicted in large quantities.
But at the same time, this anime often shows playful and humorous elements.
It may sound strange, but some viewers will find such flavors when:
they/we hear the bemused tone of the huge lion-like monster, being entrusted a child in episode one,
they hear the humorous voice of Shiraishi Haruka in panic speeches,
they hear the line "Give milk",
they watch the anthropomorphized monster is blown away by a bandit's club, and
they encounter the main character dancing awkwardly like a marionette in episode three.This kind of duality is characteristic for this anime and relieves the harsh and cruel aspects, IMHO.
