Reviewing the plastic models I built in the first half of this year.
1) Penelope (1/144) : I could bring out the kit's potential and make it look better, Within the limits of my modelling skill.
2) I-401 (1/700) : demonstrate one of my own approach, in terms of applying scale-modeling techniques to character-based kits.
3) Gii : refine the details, using additional items such as nail art stickers, while maintaining the kit's basic shape.

Twin plastic kits: Rose and Lily by Volks Inc.
Original characters, roughly inspired by floral motifs.The body construction is almost identical, while the head and weapons are each composed of unique parts.
The molding color of weapons were metal black, which didn't suit the motif and made it difficult to see the kit's structure, so I painted them with the green of plants for Rose and the light brown of soil for Lily.
These products were released in 2020, so they retain older designs (e.g. polyethylene joints). Also, the parts of the complicated and densely designed weapons interfere with one another, making them prone to falling off, which is very frustrating. Nevertheless, they possess the unique beauty based on Yukito (行徒)'s picture. (cont.) -

I completed the plastic kit of a Jiangshi (=Chinese zombie) girl "Jiulian" by Hemoxian.
The overall coloring is almost the same as the kit, but I I used pearl colors and made differences between gloss and matte, aiming to express the texture and functionality of each part. (1/n) -

I merely assembled it without painting, playing the anime Evangelion in the back. :madasuka:
The parts composition and joint structure are basically simple, but it has some unique features (such as the bracelets that appear to float from the wrists, the magic book that can be opened, the braids that are realistically molded, etc.). -

This original kit is easy to build in a few hours, but the colors of plastic material is not very good, so I painted gold for the huge weapon and lace decoration before applying a matte coating on the whole body. -
