Tonight, on the last night of Hanukkah, we wish everyone a happy Holiday of Lights!

This weekend we got the trifecta: Shabbos, Chanukah, and Rosh Chodesh (New Moon).*
So, here is at the White House, proudly repping my JFREJ community. Thinking about this Shabbat, where we get the combination of renewal (new month), light (Hanukkah), rest and peace (Shabbat). To me, JFREJ, the home of the Jewish left, is the embodiment of it all. Cheesy I know, but hey, it's Chanikah.

8/n yesterday I responded to the cheapening of #Hanukkah by some people I respect. I’m glad I did because I now know others were also offended. Now they have a voice. Also now, they (and me) know that there was no bad intention. We can move on.
