Because my original TTTE blog on Tumblr got nuked without explanation and Bluesky is too stingy with its symbol limit I'm gonna rewrite random thoughts I've had here. I didn't grow up with TTTE so there may be a decent amount of unpopular opinions. Also I haven't seen ALL episodes yet (checks CGI episode list) oh dear... good thing I've downloaded episodes past Nitrogen era in case I lose proper access to YouTube...
- My only childhood exposure to the franchise was a point-and-click adventure game Thomas Saves the Day.
- If it's not obvious from my profile, I took a liking to Donald and Douglas, even if the show treated them strangely. The Scottish accent may make it a tad difficult to understand them, NGL.
- Percy and Emily had cuter faces in the model series. Something about Emily's CGI face feels really off, I think it sticks out forward too much and it's far less expressive.
- Bouncing isn't that bad, but it could be toned down.
- Colored irises in the 2026 reboot are not the problem, it's how much space the pupils+irises occupy in the eyes.
- Donald and Douglas only getting 2 dedicated CGI episodes makes me sad, I feel conflicted about Emily in the Middle. Though I imagine if they made an episode with Douglas and Oliver interacting it would've made it very noticeable they had the same VA.
- I agree that Misty Island Rescue sucks, however I found Big World, Big Adventures to be enjoyable.
- I like the eye color the AEG Donald toy has. I also find it interesting that they gave him a chipped tooth and a mole.
- I have a bit of guilty pleasure towards Bash and Dash and wish they'd been in the Brenner era where they could be better developed. As for Ferdinand, I tend to forget about him.
- I don't count on HIT exclusive characters reappearing in the 2026 reboot.
- I haven't read Wilbert Awdry's books. I just haven't found them... yet...
- I don't like that in the books Donald and Douglas are painted the same shade of blue as several main characters. I don't know many black engines in the show so the black livery helps them stand out, and their handrails contrast with it so nicely.
- While the Nitrogen era is generally boring I did find some parts funny:
Jumping Jobi Wood: Edward getting hit by logs.
Merry Misty Island: the logging twins reacting to the "Christmas tree", I think it has meme potential.
Emily and Dash: Emily's face when she was trying to tweet and Hiro's reaction to that.
Stop That Bus: Dowager Hatt and her friends getting into Thomas, pushing his crew around.
- I don't get why Boco is popular
- Mighty Mac is the HIT era exclusive I remember the best and I would like to see him (them?) return, but I have low hopes.
- I don't like Love Me Tender's Russian dub, it lacks emotion and there seems to be an error with dialogue timing when the twins are pulling in opposite directions. I haven't found Emily in the Middle dubbed in Russian.
- Push Me, Pull You and Wonky Whistle are considered to be some of the worst episodes. I like PMPY better than WW, at least it's got action and things being thrown around, I can't remember anything likeable in WW. Aside from WW, I also remember personally hating A Blooming Mess and James in the Dark.
- I saw some AEG episodes and I don't hate it, but I feel less attached to characters voiced by children.
- The show doesn't need 2 English dubs. What's wrong with Americans learning how the UK people name things?
- I didn't expect Journey Beyond Sodor to get as dark as it did (Thomas got enslaved and almost dropped into a vat of molten steel). I like when there are dangerous moments in this show.
- I don't mind Annie and Clarabelle getting grey faces in the 2026 reboot, but James' new nose threw me off. When I saw the new Harold, I wasn't even sure it's him.

Про перезапуск 2026 года пишут, что для него (или хотя бы только рендеров) используют нейронку, но никто не может это доказать. Кто-то на полном серьёзе кинул рендер Томаса 2026 в детектор ИИ, и я по приколу решила сделать то же самое с парой кадров из полнометра BWBA в детектор ИИ.
