  1. The Dalek Empire supports Count Binface (Reclyclon Federation) in the Claction By-election!

This has to be a first for one formidable alien species to support another in such a UK election 😲🤷‍♂️

  3. Justin J. Pearson's HUGE victory on Thursday in gerrymandered TN District 9 sets the stage for a showdown in November.

It's not just New York. Or the Midwest. Progressives are winning primaries everywhere & are ready to take on the GOP in the general.

  4. Someone I voted for in yesterday’s election actually won. It’s been years

    Sumner County (TN)
Commission district 8 will be represented by a Democrat, who actually did GotV, as opposed to the Republican, who just did a mailer. Won by about fifty votes out of roughly 650 cast. Rory Edmonds will be the only Democrat on the 24-member county commission.

I feel a little less alone

  6. I voted! 🇺🇸

Tuesday was the Michigan primary (the day after we celebrated our 15th anniversary!), and I made sure to cast my vote!

Travis and I always take the kids with us when we head to the polls, whether it’s Election Day or a primary election. We believe it’s important to include them so that voting simply becomes a normal part of life.

Photo of me on voting day! 💜

I honestly can’t remember ever going to the polls with my mom or dad when I was growing up.

That doesn’t mean it had a negative effect on how I viewed voting, and I certainly don’t blame my parents. It was simply a different experience.

Politics wasn’t really discussed with the children when I was growing up. (Of course, other 90s kids may have had a different experience than I did.)

I will say, though, that I didn’t fully understand the importance of voting when I was younger. It wasn’t until I was in my thirties (I’m 45 now) that I began to better understand the voting process and just how important it is for citizens to participate.

By including our children and having ongoing conversations about voting and how our government works, Travis and I hope they’ll have a much deeper understanding of the process by the time they turn 18. 😊

No matter where a person stands politically, I think understanding how our government functions is an important part of becoming an informed citizen.

    💜 XO

  10. Sobering statistics out of that #Michigan #Senate #election ...

Abdul El-Sayed won just 34 percent of the vote in Detroit and lost a majority of votes across counties where less than 30 percent of adults have a college degree.

He did best in the areas of Michigan where incomes were highest & college educated. That is not the promised populist "wave."

I sincerely hope they can change course to broaden their appeal to non-college educated voters. #uspol #uspolitics

  12. Good news out of #Missouri this primary #election! Voters resoundingly rejected both Amendment 4 and Amendment 5, which had been placed on the ballot by our GOP-dominated legislature in an attempt to strip more power from voters (GOP politicians hate voters. They ❤️ donors).

Amendment 4 would have made it nearly impossible for citizen-initiated ballot measures to succeed, while keeping the current, lower bar for legislature-initiated measures.

Amendment 5 would have phased out the state income #tax and gave the legislature the power to replace the revenue through raising/creating sales taxes on all goods and services. The rich would pay less tax and the legislature would decide who wins and loses in this sales tax free-for-all.

Both measures went down in flames.
    🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥

They didn't just lose; they lost in *every* county. Not just every congressional district. EVERY. COUNTY.
