Plan de mañana activado con Zootopia en la pantalla. Tenía un buen rato sin ver esta película y la verdad es que toda la animación y la historia de Judy y Nick es buenísima para empezar el día con todo, más allá de ser una animación, la crítica social que hace al prejuicio y la discriminación por las diferencias es bastante buena y sin duda invita a la reflexión.

Esta película animada muestra una enorme ciudad habitada por mamíferos de todas las especies, donde los animales salvajes y las presas conviven en una supuesta armonía social moderna. La trama sigue los pasos de Judy Hopps, una coneja que logra convertirse en la primera oficial de policía de su especie, y a Nick Wilde, un zorro estafador con el que debe hacer equipo para resolver la misteriosa desaparición de varios ciudadanos pertenecientes al grupo de los depredadores.
Detrás de la comedia y el diseño de los personajes, la historia funciona como un análisis directo sobre los prejuicios sociales y el racismo dentro de las comunidades humanas. Los directores utilizan la división biológica entre presas y depredadores para explicar cómo los estereotipos, el miedo inculcado y la manipulación política pueden dividir a una población en pocos días. La producción utiliza un lenguaje visual sencillo que divierte al público infantil mientras expone a los adultos una crítica severa sobre la discriminación sistémica y el uso del pánico moral como herramienta de control.

Okay, i drew one of the most important moments that takes place in Criminal Judy AU! (see posts below). The art depicts Judy, Chief Bogo and the boar from 2nd movie whose name i don't care about. They received a case about the found body of a decapitated bird that's banned in Zootopia. This is not the first case involving birds in general, but the very first one with such a violent incident. To say that Judy is shocked by the incident and boar's reaction would be an understatement. She had already gotten used to the fact that boar don't take a lot of cases too seriously, especially involving small animals, but this time it was different. Bogo i don't want to describe as a dick in this AU because i kinda like him, even tho he acted like a dick in 1st movie. So he doesn't have a jerk reaction, just serious and intense. As much as he doesn't like birds much too, he knows how serious this is.

Ideas appeared only after i listened this song for the 6th time because honestly i don't like it much. But now, after coming up with this little AU, i'm finding this song more enjoyable and interesting. Imagination really does a fucking magic! :awoo:

It's obvious that the same will happen in 3rd movie with birds and everyone will be happy again, i hate it already.
2nd movie made me so mad that i even come up with an AU where Judy slowly started becoming a criminal. An actual criminal, instead of a wolf in sheep's clothing. It happened after events of the 2nd movie when Judy finally saw how incompetent cops are and decided that she'll still keep doing her job, but more brutal this time. Ofc Nick and Benjamin Clawhauser there too as they're the most trustful from all. No more following rules as to not harm anyone. Bad guys i mean, not animals like those poor exiled reptiles. She even shoot the boar from 2nd movie that i fucking hate. This is where her criminal ark started being visible to others since she shoot the boar publicity to protect someone, as they were in deadly danger and the boar made it worse again. 🕊️ Song that give me some ideas! Before i only considered a possibility of this AU. -
Even plot twist with sheep villains was shocking for me! Nick n Judy conflict because Judy said some shit in front of the whole world as a cop...on 1 second...with dominated herbivores! (n Nick being a predator too only added the shit to the fan) Nick's attitude+backstory+anxiety+doubts. Judy's hard ass work with a sprinkle of a creativity when she trained to become a cop and as one later n her desire constantly breaking rules for the sake of justice.This ALL was coming together so perfectly! And then 2nd movie flashed this all in the toilet. I even have a headcanon that Nick became a pussy overtime cause he was working as a cop for too fucking long and that's why some of his abilities n attitude reduced, as he's already was kinda lazy (his shaningans was very funny n creative in 1st movie, it's just a fact that he's kinda lazy, i'm perfectly fine with that n can relate lol). Because being a cop IS turning you into one.

I'm for a long time already wish to write/record my own reviews on movies, actually! Because i can if i'm finding a really interesting movie and can write whole essay about it. But i'm always worried my reviews will be too short, or boring or just idiotic in the eyes of others.
As an example, i DESPISE Zootopia 2 tho i was so excited to see it. The only ark i like is with reptiles because this is goddamn genius move. But in all other parts this is a disaster. Characters are boring, Nick sucks, Judy not sucks but still doesn't feel like the same person from 1st movie, police are worse than ever but getting excused, plot twist villain boring af because it was obvious, plot moving boring in general. This if in very short.
I love everything about 1st movie tho! The whole ass government who KNEW what was going on and just kept animals in cages, flowers, sheep twist, comedy, characters, atmosphere, worldbuilding, a bit of horror even! -

So, the corgo finally got around to watching Zootopia 2. :ablobcorgi_bongo_hyper:
At the risk of being controversial, I actually liked it a lot more than the first movie. People credit the first movie as having good social commentary on race relations, and I can't disagree more. It distills race disparity in the most simplistic and dumb ways, while spending the majority of its runtime making jokes about how different animals do actually behave in different ways. The twist villain's motivation being that she just wants to be mayor super duper badly is just stupidly contrived, and her reveal was deeply unsatisfying. The early drafts of the movie were far better, where the racial issues were systemic and codified into society through shock collars. I still wish we'd gotten that movie instead of the "hey we just all need to get along, guys :)" movie we got.
On the other hand, Zootopia 2 actually does a decent job of tackling certain social issues. Using race-based lies and propaganda to justify the displacement of minorities is a massive issue we face. I like that the movie covered the destruction of an entire village in the past, but also had the modern version where they were going to gentrify over Marsh Market and everyone was completely fine with it. Displacement isn't a demon that their world vanquished, much as its not one we've defeated either. I also liked that Pawbert was a twist villain. As much as I was a little sad to see cute clumsy fluff boi be evil, I think making the rich, white-coded guy a savior would've massively undermined the narrative, and would've felt like something tacked onto the movie in order to appease the rich shareholders. Subverting that by making him an asshole like the rest of his family was fantastic.
So yeah, great movie. I had a good time. :neodog_floof_happy_tail_wag:
