Sitting outside again with Mama Lemon, I aimed my flashlight into the backyard and all I saw was her zooming through the light beam like this, hunting bugs in the grass. And a moment later she charged at an unsuspecting hedgehog who didn't want to play with her. 😂 I would never have thought a month ago that this little lady could be such a hyper weirdo.

I was drinking my coffee outside with Mama Lemon this morning. Suddenly I felt something tug at my leg. Turns out our indoor weirdos got it from her after all. At this point I'm convinced that we never saw her play before because she was on guard around Tux, who had a tendency to play a little too rough for her liking.
That doesn't make me miss him any less, but I am glad to finally see this side of his mama. ♥️

PARLOR SNAKES ist ein wandlungsfähiges Projekt, dessen Kern das französisch-amerikanische Duo Eugénie Alquezar / Peter K. bildet. Nach ihrem vom Rock'n'Roll inspirierten Debütalbum „Let's Get Gone“, einem selbstbetitelten, von Garage/Blues geprägten zweiten Album (aufgenommen in New York von Matt Verta-Ray) und dem düsteren, psychedelischen dritten Album „Disaster Serenades“ entwickelt sich Parlor Snakes nun in Richtung dunklerer Ambient-Klänge.Das in ihrem Pariser Studio konzipierte Album „Cut Shadows“ kündigt die Rückkehr von Eugénie und Peter an, die dieses vierte Album von der Aufnahme bis zur Produktion komplett selbst produziert haben. Ein Album voller Lebendigkeit, in dem die traumhafte Atmosphäre, die mit Wut entwickelt und verfeinert wurde, den Raum wie ein Rockgitarrenriff ausfüllt. Ihre eklektischen Inspirationen (Post-Punk, Krautrock, Dark Pop, Cold Wave) veranlassten sie, mit neuen Klängen und Strukturen zu experimentieren, ohne jemals Abstriche bei den Melodien und Texten zu machen, die ebenso wichtig und wesentlich sind wie die Musik selbst.
Ihre Shows fangen die Essenz der Songs ein und schwanken zwischen ätherischen Synthesizern und heftigen Explosionen gesättigter Gitarrenklänge. Sich aus den Schatten der Vergangenheit zu befreien und zu größerer Freiheit zu gelangen, darin liegt die Bedeutung des Albumtitels. Eine Musik, die bewegt... den Körper in Bewegung und den Geist unterworfen.

Die Geschichte der Americana in Leipzig ist schnell erzählt. Erst kam lange nix, und dann endlich die Zoomies. Wobei die Zoomies – dem Herzensprojekt des Musikers Maxim Tschernych – auf dem Debüt-Tape „Carbonated Soft Drinks“ aus dem Jahre 2023 noch klangen wie eine Tüte New-Wave-Gemischtes zwischen Jack J., Bowie oder Ween. Aber nun endlich die folgerichtige, die Pop-Historie auf VHS-Tape rückwärts spulende, leicht verrauschte Hinwendung zur Americana, genauer gesagt zum rock-poppigen Teil, wo Country oder Folk keine Schimpfwörter sind.Bandcamp: https://zoomiesmusic.bandcamp.com/
