Zohra: The Afghan Women’s Orchestra is Afghanistan's first all-female orchestra. They were founded in 2015 by the Afghanistan National Institute of Music and are conducted by Negin Khpolwak. They have toured the world and performed at major global and cultural events playing a repertoire of traditional Afghan and western classical music. Unfortunately, due to the Taliban’s seizure of Kabul they have been in exile in Portugal since 2021.
