#ZMAngband #traditionalroguelikes #roguelikedev well, this time I thought @conornally would be proud of me! Thread:
I have been all my vacation days diving the ancient Z Code, and I'm quite satisfied with how the next release is getting shaped. Multiple minor fixes and improvements coded in, for the sakes of less bugs (found three so far) and better/smoother gameplay. Implemented things I never would have even dreamt of achieving, like glowing terrain and attaching noise to actions like... -
#ZMAngband #traditionalroguelikes #roguelikedev as we head towards the 1900 download, a fellow on reddit said my variant is stupidly easy. Too much and too powerful loot. (U are spoiled af @jake4480 xD) Me, for one, still have not gotten a win, and I play daily.
So, being honest to myself, the guy is a bit right. I might have been spoiling my players. Next update will see some balancing introduced. And a boatload of work on the code under the hood, along with a fistful of smashed bugs. Soon! -

With lots of new stuff between Monsters, Items, and game features, such the special chance of exclusive dropping for certain monsters and the boost for immersion + fun when fighting. W/ the last code rework, I can make selected creatures to have a chance of dropping objects assigned to them exclusively.I'm releasing an update soon,so players can have a taste of the last added features. Question: should I go full-dive and rework some more monsters from the Bestiary with that object-dropping thing?Could it affect how folks interactuate w/ monsters?Would it feel like cheat? Or would my players enjoy it?

Read the machete_readme.txt IV.26 entry (at least, althought reading the whole thing is advised and fun and enjoyable) to see what is fixed, added and reworked.

Had to rewrite couple code lines and now is working... Spectacularly. I mean, now the doors literally blow up xD

Finally took 2 orcs and an ogre priests of Chaos to make him bite the dust. One of the best runs I ever had in my variant or any *band at all. And it was #yasd bc I was too proud to get out of there.

But not all is lost, you still can choose the 'c' closest target when shooting/throwing/casting and also, you always can go octo-way. Next update will see a number of bugs gone.

First time I ever get to level up a character to CL24! Look at that Stealth, I'm the Living Shadow, the Killing Rumor. And that equipment, whohoo, can't wait for the next session! #ZMAngband #traditionalroguelike
