I see various articles about #loongarch, #zhaoxin and even #riscv CPUs that usually end with "it doesn't outperform a first-gen Ryzen or Haswell".
Big deal. It doesn't have to. It's targeting a different market.
It's far more important to have a good enough sovereign supply chain for the billion low-end office desktops that make a bureaucracy and economy tick. If relations collapse, gamers will have to make do with less.

As usual, I had to combine data sources to get the info on each variant. Now pinxi detects Zhaoxin, and gets advanced microarchitecture data for each known model.
Previously this was tossed in with Centaur data, which cut off when zhaoxin split from via (cpuid family 6 > 7). And was wrong too.
It's absurdly hard to find this cpu data.

#KaiXian #KX7000 is #Zhaoxin’s latest #CPU, featuring a #x86_64 architecture. The core dubbed #CenturyAvenue is 4wide, #AVX2 capable with an out-of-order execution window on par with Intel CPUs from 2010.
Single-threaded performance is close to AMD’s Bulldozer #FX8150 which leads by 13.6% there. In Multithreaded Performance the KX-7000 is soundly beaten even by Bulldozer.
Zhaoxin is part of #China’s effort to build domestic chips in case western ones become unavailable.

It's around 75% faster in single and 17% faster in multi-core tests within the same #benchmark.
