Wo alles begann...
Mit 12 war ich zum ersten Mal in der #Schweiz und habe mich in die #zentralbahn verliebt. Ich fühlte, dass die Affinität zur #Eisenbahn grösser war als in Deutschland, der Stellenwert dieses Systems höher.
Heute back to the roots.

Going through the pictures taken yesterday at, and around, #Interlaken🇨🇭Ost train station, a busy hub for #SBB #BLS #Zentralbahn #Brünig and #BOB #Jungfrau Region services. Standard gauge and metre gauge trains meet here every half hour basically, ensuring almost seamless connections.

🇨🇭🚞 Switzerland has a huge variety of wonderful railway relations. The #Panoramaexpress of #Zentralbahn🇨🇭 from #Lucerne🇨🇭 to #Interlaken🇨🇭 is one of them - A wonderful #Elvetino #diningcar included 😍!
I went for the "Muntermacher", the pick-me-up breakfast with cappuccino☕️ and croissant🥐 while the narrow gauge train climbs up partly as a cog railway and a breathtaking mountain🏔 scenery! -
The narrow-gauge #Zentralbahn🇨🇭#Brünig railway at #Interlaken and Lake #Brienz in August 2007. That stretch is mostly flat (according to Swiss standards that is), yet this former #SBB line also includes some rack railway sections further north, towards #Luzern.

@AufGleis13 @diningcar Managed to have that dish ❤️ three times during my #Interrail journey. Twice on #SBB EC and IC trains, and a bit surprised that the dining car on the #Zentralbahn “panorama” train Luzern–Interlaken train had it on its menu, too.

Lunch in the @diningcar on the ”Panorama Express” from Luzern to Interlaken Ost. (In quotes because this is not a train with a supplement and/or mandatory reservation, but just a regular train, with large windows, sure, and a dining car.)
