ASUS no lanzará nuevos smartphones durante este año

Well, my #Asus #Zenfone Ultra 11 up and died at 1.5 years, which means it's out of warranty and it died in a way I can't reset it or get data off of it. I ordered a #Pixel 10 Pro XL. I'm sad about it because I really liked the #Zenfone, but I need something reliable and Mint Mobile had the new Pixel phones for way cheaper than anything else.

@RandySimons possibly, although most people I know with tablets / laptops (i.e. have other computing devices) still use a mega sized phone. is it coz they prefer the size or the lack of good options for smaller devices? 🤷
Asus #Zenfone series used to have some smaller yet decently specced devices (gen 8/9/10) but for gen 11 they went with Ultra. Maybe there's just no market for small high-end phones.
I had the #XperiaX which is just slightly smaller than the XA2. A delight with #SailfishOS :)

How good is the battery life on my #Asus #Zenfone 11? I spent all day at #Disneyland, leaving at close. Relatives with iPhones had their batteries die around noon to mid-afternoon. Disneyland sells portable chargers everywhere. I never charged my phone once, used it all throughout the day (pretty much have to run Disneyland app), didn't use any power saving mode, etc, and when I got back in around 1:30am, I still had 55% left.

Retrospective from a month with the #Zenfone 11 Ultra:
I'm now officially a fan of the Zenfone. It hits a certain sweet spot for me between the headphone jack, UI, camera, and battery life. It's the direction #Samsung should have gone.
I don't like the larger size more than the size of the 9/10, but it is roughly the same size of my previous Samsung Galaxy Plus, so I can definitely live with it.

I thought the wireless charging stopped working on my #Zenfone 11, but it turned out to be a 3rd party case. The charging works fine without a case or the case it came with, but not the simple clear plastic one I bought on Amazon. I have a similar style case on my #Pixel 8 and wireless charging works with it, so now I'm curious if it's a problem with the case or the Zenfone.

This #Zenfone 11 Ultra is roughly the same dimensions as the #Samsung S24 Ultra, which replaced the Galaxy Note. I really wasn't expecting it to be this big. By going from a Zenfone 9 to 11, I went from one of the smallest smartphones to one of the largest. 😳
Don't get me wrong - it's an excellent phone, but sweet glory is it massive.

For the most part, the #Zenfone 11 seems like a straightforward upgrade on the Zenfone 9, but it goes from 16G in the Zenfone 9 to 12G in the Zenfone 11. The Zenfone 11 has DDR5 memory where I'm pretty sure Z9 has DDR4.
I don't normally use that much memory on my phone (usually around 6GB), and #Asus phones can support zram, so it's not a deal breaker for me. This was just the most obvious tradeoff I noticed apart from the size difference.

Should I look into getting a new phone? I've had my #iPhone6SPlus since May 2018 which is the longest I've had a phone but the problem is headphone jacks basically don't exist unless I want to buy an #Xperia or a #Zenfone but neither of them have #WiFiCalling on #ATT and the Xperias have way too weird of an aspect ratio for me. At least the #S24Ultra has a squared-off screen and 7 years of updates, but no #HeadphoneJack. Should I do two phones like I did when I got my #Lumia830?
