  1. Get a FREE case for your #Zemmix Neo!

The Zemmix Neo is an awesome FPGA-Based #MSX 2+ computer released in 2013 by a Korean user group. The original version had an amazing CNC-machined and anodized aluminum case, but it was more expensive than the board itself.

So, when other groups produced their own versions of the board, they had to source alternative cases. In Brazil the Zemmix Neo BR used a "Quickplast" case, made from thick sheets of cut/folded plastic. Both are shown below.

  2. New project! A 3D Printed case for my #MSX #Zemmix Neo. Designed on Tinkercad and Inkscape, printed on black and neon green PLA using my Ender 3. It is almost 5 mm slimmer than the original, and not as yellowed (see second pic). 😉

This was my first time designing something more complex than simple boxes with lids, and I learned A LOT about measuring, templates and tolerances. As they say, the journey is the reward.

The model will be on Thingiverse soon, alongside an article on Medium.

  3. And speaking of #Korean #bootleg #MSX #game cartridges from the #80s / #90s, here's a Korean #Zemmix release of #Konami's #CircusCharlie (though this release says it's by #Typhoon), currently up for sale by a fellow #MSX friend: ebay.nl/itm/274509640704

#Wikipedia has an entry for #Zemina which has some more info about the brand, its company #SaehanTrading, a list of their games (though I have a hard time matching some of the stylised glyphs) and links to articles #MSX-based #gameConsole made by #Daewoo, the #Zemmix: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zemina

Supposedly the #Nemesis3 is a release officially licensed by #Konami, but since it lacks the SCC chip and comes in such a generic box and label, I kinda doubt that.
