Originally, this started as a simple, minimalist piano piece, but I started hearing more orchestral things with it and thought it would sound good fleshed out, so I expanded it for orchestra- the idea being to take a simple melody and use it multiple ways to create something more interesting. Sort of a minimalist approach to make a not-so-minimalist piece of music. At some point, I may post the piano version just to have a recording of them both but... we'll see.

I was inspired to make this symphonic poem inspired by the art of Sam Carr's 'Eternal Ruins'.

When I first saw Sam’s artwork, I immediately fell in love with the style and aesthetic. The Eternal Ruins are ancient, somewhat reclaimed by nature, full of spirits, demons, and all kinds of magical things that I love in art and fantasy.
