Even the most die-hard #Bitcoin enthusiast would probably agree with you. Which isn’t to say the idea is flawed. On #Nostr, there’s an idea I really like called ‘ #Lightning/ #Zaps’. These are microtransactions on the blockchain. They take place without proof, are collected and then recorded on the blockchain as a single large commit.
This happens in real time, so to speak, and is designed to support #artists, #journalists and content creators. 22 Zaps are worth about 0.01 cents. If you hear a song you like, you can ‘like’ it and the artist gets a tiny bit of money. I like this idea.
This is also a problem in the #Federation. As long as paradise hasn’t yet dawned, we have to earn money. That’s impossible here. With Zaps, it’s possible, albeit only a very small amount. -

I've been getting zapvertisements... And I'm all for it! One of my peeves on Xitter were the degenerate ads for gambling and soft porn anime games. Here I get no ads but from those who zap me their ad. We're early and they're early... I might even check some out. After all, engagement is hard with no algo and no ad platform to push your service. Could be interesting to see where this zapvertising model goes.
