El viernes 22 de mayo de 2026 escuché la conferencia de la Dra. Georgina Flores García en la Red Iberoamericana de historiadoras de la Universidad de Sonora, con la conferencia “Presencia africana y afrodescendiente del Valle de Toluca. Siglo XVII”, ella fue mi maestra de historia en la Facultad de Ciencias Políticas y a quien he seguido muy de cerca las investigaciones derivadas de sus estudios sobre los afrodescendientes y que la ha llevado a buscar su presencia desde el siglo XVII en el Valle de Toluca, en los archivos históricos y parroquiales donde ha indagado hasta sus nombres verdaderos, aunque sólo sean unos cuantos, los ha visibilizado en nuestro país, donde la negación por la sangre negra está presente a pesar de los esfuerzos de gente que como ella ha luchado porque sus tradiciones y cultura hayan prevalecido durante siglos.
En su conferencia resaltó su gran pasión por este tema diciendo que todos los días honra a África y su objetivo es que todos los valoremos, porque no sólo dejaron sus huellas en la genética, también en la cultura: en 1958 se declara el 25 de mayo como el “Día Mundial de África”; asimismo, el 25 de mayo de 1963 en Addis Abeba, capital de Etiopía, los líderes de 32 naciones africanas, solemnemente reunidos en conferencia, se comprometen a crear una organización que les dé una voz unida por primera vez en la historia de África, y para ello concluyen con el acuerdo de todos los delegados de fundar la Organización de la Unidad Africana (OUA). Su principal objetivo será descolonizar los bastiones blancos de Rhodesia del Sur, Sudáfrica, Mozambique y Angola. Después de 38 años de su fundación, el 25 de mayo de 2001, la OUA se disolverá para ser sustituida por la Unión Africana, también con sede en Addis Abeba.
En el mes de marzo de 2026 hubo un avance más, quienes fueron arrancados del Continente Africano se considera Crimen de Lesa Humanidad (del latín Laesa, que significa: lastimado, agraviado, ofendido), se realiza el acta donde se llegaron a varios acuerdos como: reformas legales para combatir el racismo sistémico y la devolución de bienes culturales a sus países de origen, entre otros. El primer crimen de lesa humanidad fueron los juicios de Núremberg en contra de los líderes de la Alemania Nazi, pero no se compara con los 540 años de crímenes cometidos contra África, nos dice la doctora Flores. Sólo tres países no quisieron firmar el reconocimiento de Crimen de Lesa Humanidad: Estados Unidos, Argentina e Israel.
Niños, mujeres, hombres, ancianos, fueron arrancados durante varios siglos del continente africano, considerado una gran torre de Babel, pues venían del Congo, Angola, Zaire, Sierra Leona, todos hablando distintos idiomas y al llegar a la Nueva España tuvieron aprender el castellano.
Según la teoría de Davison se considera a África la Madre de América, derivado de que fueron trasladados desde el siglo XVI millones de africanos para trabajar en las minas y en las plantaciones, lo que no sólo implicó la migración forzada de personas, sino también costumbres, religiones, lenguas y conocimientos de la cultura africana.
Por fortuna, el paso de muchos de ellos en estas tierras, quedaron en los documentos que ha investigado la Dra. Flores y los ha encontrado gracias a la riqueza de los archivos algunos catalogados por tema como: Tierras, Inquisición, Hospital de Jesús, Juicios, Testamentos, etc. En el Archivo General de Indias (que se encuentra en España y ahí se menciona a Toluca), Archivo General de la Nación y en nuestra entidad, el Archivo General de Notarías, Archivo del Poder Judicial del Estado de México, Archivos parroquiales, Fondo Reservado de la Biblioteca Pública Central Estatal; el Archivo de la Parroquia del Sagrario en Toluca que está por cumplir 300 años.
En su conferencia mencionó que en dos Códices aparece Juan Cortés que aunque trae la vestimenta española, perfectamente se aprecia el tono de su piel y el cabello rizado se trata de un personaje cercano a Hernán Cortés, con nombre castellanizado y tomando el apellido Cortés. En el Códice Azcatitlán se le aprecia al mismo Juan Cortés, junto a Hernán Cortés y la Malinche, ya desde ahí se ve la presencia de africanos, cuando se dirigen a Tenochtitlán.
Los documentos nos dicen que las personas de origen africano no se fueron, se quedaron y hubo mestizaje, no sólo estaban en las minas o en las plantaciones, también había oficios a los que se dedicaban como: la cocina, labores domésticas, nodrizas, curtiduría, arriería. Y aunque las ordenazas prohibían que las personas negras fueran maestros, tenemos el ejemplo de Juan Correa que es uno de los grandes maestros pintores del arte en las iglesias, también aparece un barbero que realiza diversas cirugías, era médico cirujano barbero y se encuentra su nombre y su oficio aparece en la Notaría Número 1 de Toluca.
Por ello, nos falta mucho por descubrir sobre la sangre negra no sólo en nuestra ciudad de Toluca, sino en el vasto territorio del Valle de Toluca.

The "therapeutics" for ANY Ebola strain are the above drugs, basic barrier nursing, basic patient care, providing fluids, and managing hemorrhage/fever.
TL;DR IRRESPECTIVE OF STRAIN, Ebola cannot be strictly said to have any *effective* vaccine or therapeutics, anyways.
