A few photos from Tuesday’s Snowbirds performance in Victoria, BC. Thanks to Capital Bike and the volunteers for running the bike valet. It was such a nice experience to be able to quickly and safely ride to a busy event using protected bike lanes and multi-use pathways. The Cook Street upgrades in Victoria are progressing well. The upgrades include a new 2 km protected bike lane, new crosswalks, accessibility improvements, and intersection upgrades. This will also connect to a raised cycle track in Saanich. Details below. #yyjbike

I *FINALLY* finished the tune-up on my #bike - was down to just the cassette replacement when I absolutely got stuck and broke my whip. I had no desire to get to the point of shredding the flesh off my knuckles and making expensive sounds, and the kind folk at my local shop were able to help using the bench vise. Extreme close pass by a #VictoriaTaxi on Gorge Road West near Tillicum. Thankfully they weren't also speeding which is rare on Gorge Road. My camera was dead but I got the license plate and reported it to the Saanich Police. Probably won't amount to anything but it at least adds to statistics.

The car brains on reddit /r/VictoriaBC/ don't seem to know how to do an internet search. Claiming mobility scooters "travel like 3-5km/h" etc. First full size mobility scooter I clicked on has top speed of 18km/h. People on acoustic bikes commonly go 10-15km/h. Research is good! #yyj #yyjbike
