  1. A big mug of uncomplicated Yunnan black tea from Yunnan Sourcing, (2018 drunk on red w/snow chrysanthemum flowers).

  2. A big mug of uncomplicated Yunnan black tea. A blend of the Mud and Leaves Azure Spring and Yunnan Sourcing Drunk on Red black tea cakes.

  3. One of my favorite teas to drink when I'm under the weather is this blend of sun dried Yunnan black tea and snow chrysanthemum flowers, called "Drunk on Red". Yunnan Sourcing made this tea for a few years from around 2013 to 2018, but as far as I've seen 2018 was the last year. (They also made a plain version and a version with osmanthus flowers.)

  4. Technically this is a blend of the last couple grams of Yunnan Sourcing GABA Osmanthus Oolong (mostly osmanthus flowers) and White2Tea's Osmanthus Oolong. It's actually kinda good, a successful blend.

  5. Yunnan Sourcing GABA Oolong with osmanthus flowers via a trade with a tea friend. As I understand it, "GABA" teas are processed in an anaerobic environment which encourages the presence of Gamma-aminobutyric acid in the tea. Osmanthus flowers have a taste/smell similar to apricot or peach, you'll probably recognize it from herbal iced tea (tisane) at hippie cafes.

  6. Is there any better tea than well aged gongmei/shoumei white tea? Maybe, but I just enjoy everything about well aged white tea. This is a 2013 Fuding Shoumei that Yunnan Sourcing sold a while back. One of the first teas I ordered from them.

  7. Imperial Pure Bud Yunnan Black Tea of Simao is another tongue twister of a tea from Yunnan Sourcing. Fortunately, it is a very pleasant and well priced malty black tea that they make pretty much every year.

  8. Xinghai 2009 "Dragon" ripe puerh mini cake via Yunnan Sourcing. According to YS, this ripe Puerh is made from "gong ting" and "first grade" 2008 maocha. I am not 100% sure what those terms mean, but on a practical level the leaves are very small, so I kept the steeps short. Even keeping the steeps short, this tea ends up with a very zippy energy for a ripe puerh. It is an enjoyable, easy to brew tea, no bitterness, and the storage flavors are mellow and pleasant.

  9. A little chilly this AM, a good day for a chewy red like this Imperial Pure Bud Yunnan Black Tea of Simao from Yunnan Sourcing. (Also, a good day for variety after several straight days of green tea.)

  10. Bottom of the bags of some furrier types of green tea, like this Long Mei Yunnan tea of Zhenyuan, can be dusty and a bit intense. Zoom, zoom!

  11. The final of the three 2018 Drunk on Red tea cakes. This one is Yunnan black tea blended with Osmanthus flowers. The flavor of Osmanthus flowers reminds me of disappointing herbal iced tea in hippy restaurants. (It's kinda fruity/peachy/apricot/herbal.) On the plus side, the Osmanthus flavor has mellowed somewhat with time and merged with the tea more thoroughly.

  13. Comfort tea for a wet and windy morning. Yi Mei Ren Wu Liang Mountain Black Tea from Yunnan Sourcing. Unusual for a Yunnan tea, this is closer to Taiwan or Fujian red than typical hearty Yunnan Red tea.
